Getting Started

Do I need a GP referral to see you?

No, you can book directly without a referral. A Mental Health Care Plan from your GP can provide a Medicare rebate and reduce your out-of-pocket costs, but it isn't required to start.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is mostly about understanding your current difficulties, history, and goals, so we can build a shared plan for treatment. There's no obligation to continue if you don't feel it's the right fit.

How do I book an appointment?

Call 02 4910 4061 or use the contact form below. We'll get back to you to arrange a suitable time.

Fees & Rebates

What are your fees?

Please contact the practice directly on 02 4910 4061 or via the form below for current session fees, as these are reviewed periodically.

Is there a Medicare rebate available?

With a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Medicare currently provides a rebate of $149.05 per eligible session, reducing your out-of-pocket cost.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice otherwise a cancellation fee may apply. This is necessary so appointments can be made available to other clients who may need them.

Therapy & Approach

What therapies do you offer?

We offer EMDR, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy, tailored to your needs and goals.

How long is a session, and how many will I need?

Standard sessions are around 50 minutes. The number of sessions varies with your goals and the approach used — some difficulties respond well to shorter-term work, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. We'll review progress together along the way.

Do you work with teenagers?

Yes, we work with older teenagers (16+) as well as adults.

Telehealth & Confidentiality

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. Telehealth video sessions are available across Australia, alongside in-person appointments in Newcastle. See our telehealth page for details.

Is what I say in sessions confidential?

Yes. What you share in sessions is confidential, in line with professional and legal obligations. The main exceptions are situations involving risk of serious harm to yourself or others, which we can discuss further in your first session.
